Hello my name is Claire and I have been practising and teaching Tai Chi Chuan for 35 years. The style I teach is called Yang style (also known as long form). This form consists of 108 moves known as a "set". The set is like learning a dance and is often called a "moving meditation" and is an internal exercise.
Practising Tai Chi over time can produce more flexibility in the mind as well as the body, improve your balance and co-ordination. Feedback I have received is that people have a very good night's sleep after a class and you may even find that you can stand on one leg to put on your socks!
If you feel that learning Tai Chi is for you, please see below when I'm starting up a new beginners' class. Please note I only teach in the evenings, no daytime classes. The current classes I teach are not drop in classes as you need to start from the very beginning due to the amount of moves to learn. It's like learning a dance!
I made this video in a lovely little known park and gardens in New Barnet during lockdown. This is without narration at the moment but shows the flow of one move to the next with control of the legs to produce a smooth form. MORE VIDEOS OVER ON THE NEXT PAGE!
